About
Amanda Harris grew up in Ontario, Canada and after graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, moved to Seattle to begin what became a 6 year stint at Microsoft as a UX Designer.
Currently she’s a Senior UX Designer at Blurb, and prior to that she was a Senior UX Design Manager at Twitch, supporting their Design System team.
In her free time, Amanda plays too many video games, consumes books, and bakes/eats anything with sugar in it. She is married to an adorably tall developer and together they have two rather spoiled dogs.
Random assortment of things Amanda loves:
Books (I am a Book Dragon)
Star Wars (interview me to see my R2D2 shoulder tattoo)
K-Pop (borahae!)
The McElroy Brothers (for a modren era)
Mechanical Keyboards (My favourite switches - linear: banana split, tactile: ethereal panda, clicky: absolutely not.)
Ice Cream (I once had lobster ice cream at a strip mall buffet)
Picking apart video games for their UX issues (I early rage quit Red Dead Redemption because of the bad horse taming UX and my partner still hasn’t forgiven me)
Formula 1 (Team Albon.. but also Norris & Sainz)
The Detroit Red Wings (minus Patrick Kane)
Death Cab for Cutie (ask me about the time I thought some guy reminded me of Ben Gibbard but he turned out to be Ben Gibbard)
Cosplay (Patrick Rothfuss once requested MY photo)
Coffee (I live in Seattle afterall.)
