About

Amanda Harris grew up in Ontario, Canada and after graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, moved to Seattle to begin what became a 6 year stint at Microsoft as a UX Designer.

Currently she’s a Senior UX Designer at Blurb, and prior to that she was a Senior UX Design Manager at Twitch, supporting their Design System team.

In her free time, Amanda plays too many video games, consumes books, and bakes/eats anything with sugar in it. She is married to an adorably tall developer and together they have two rather spoiled dogs.

Random assortment of things Amanda loves:

  • Books (I am a Book Dragon)

  • Star Wars (interview me to see my R2D2 shoulder tattoo)

  • K-Pop (borahae!)

  • The McElroy Brothers (for a modren era)

  • Mechanical Keyboards (My favourite switches - linear: banana split, tactile: ethereal panda, clicky: absolutely not.)

  • Ice Cream (I once had lobster ice cream at a strip mall buffet)

  • Picking apart video games for their UX issues (I early rage quit Red Dead Redemption because of the bad horse taming UX and my partner still hasn’t forgiven me)

  • Formula 1 (Team Albon.. but also Norris & Sainz)

  • The Detroit Red Wings (minus Patrick Kane)

  • Death Cab for Cutie (ask me about the time I thought some guy reminded me of Ben Gibbard but he turned out to be Ben Gibbard)

  • Cosplay (Patrick Rothfuss once requested MY photo)

  • Coffee (I live in Seattle afterall.)
