Lync for Android Tablet

Lync 2013 for Android was originally designed as a phone only client, but due to the voracity and technical savvy of Android users our phone UI was being sideloaded on to Android tablets. This resulted in a strong push to optimize the phone UI for tablets with a focus on fixing obvious bugs, low hanging fruit and essentially getting the UI looking clean and functional in the least amount of time.

The largest constraint by far was time. There was constant collaboration with the development team to find the appropriate balance between quickest and most effective solutions to the biggest problems. Occasionally, I had to fight for particular solutions, such as the top level nagivation in landscape mode. This change required a large amount of dev work but was unusable in tablet.

This project initiated and shipped in less than 3 months.
